GruppeM Racing to enter in the DTM in 2021!

The Team will contest in the prestigious racing series next year with a Mercedes- AMG GT3 car!

By entering the DTM (Deutsche Tourenwagen Masters) GruppeM Racing, under its team principal Kenny Chen, will take the next step in its successful development as a global racing team for the coming season.GruppeM Racing will attack with their Mercedes-AMG GT3 a total of 18 races, each over one hour, at nine events in Germany, Russia, Belgium, Austria, Italy and Netherlands.

Since the team was founded in 2004, the Hong Kong based racing team, which operates from its multiple facilities across Asia and Europe, has left an impressive mark in International GT racing. In their first season, the young team won the title in the British GT Championship. They followed that up by dominating and winning the FIA GT2 championship the next year.

After a hiatus of six years, GruppeM Racing returned to motorsport in 2017 and on this occasion changed from Porsche to Mercedes. GruppeM Racing won the Driver and Team Championship in the Blancpain GT Series Asia first time out and in the following year won the Drivers' championship in the Blancpain GT4 Championship Asia.

GruppeM Racing has also been at the forefront in the Intercontinental GT Challenge for several years. In 2018 they won the famous 10-hour race of Suzuka, Japan. The following year they took second place at Suzuka and only missed the overall Drivers' title by a thin margin at the final race in Kyalami, South Africa due to a technical problem, totally from their control.

In 2019 GruppeM Racing also won the Spa/Suzuka Endurance Trophy and secured a pole Position at the Bathurst 12hrs race at the first visit for the Team at that track.

The team has particularly fond memories of Macau, the famous gamblers metropolis situated close to Hong Kong. In the prestigious FIA GT World Cup on this spectacular street circuit, GruppeM Racing competed with Raffaele Marciello, Maro Engel and Eduardo Mortara from 2017 to 2019. Its drivers having been on the Podium in every year they competed. In 2019 they clinched a magnificent victory with the Italian Raffaele Marciello. Therefore, GruppeM Racing are still the reigning and defending FIA GT World Champions

GruppeM Racing is now daring to step into Germany's top racing series.
